My Story
My name is Baktybala, which in Kazakh means "the child who brings happiness." I was born and raised on Kazakh land, shaped by the rich culture of nomads and the history of Russian colonization.
My travels began at the age of seven. I still vividly remember my first trip to Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan; my older cousins were allowed to ride horses, while I was relegated to a donkey because I was too small! Since then, I have had the privilege of visiting various countries across Europe, as well as Japan, Korea, and China. For a long time, these were typical family, study, or business trips—short, dense, and centered around tourist attractions.
Everything changed in 2022 when I moved to Georgia. I decided to change my entire lifestyle and began living intentionally through my own authenticity. Since childhood, I had faced significant health challenges after being diagnosed with IBD (Ulcerative Colitis). My teenage years were spent in hospitals and on heavy medication, a struggle that only intensified in my early adult life.
In 2023, I made a pivotal choice: I moved away from conventional medication in favour of natural remedies, changed my nutrition, and began traveling with a new purpose. I wasn't just curious about new lands; I wanted to prove to myself that I am greater than my disease and the limitations it created.
After 1.5 years of traveling through East and Southeast Asia, I had a transcendental experience of oneness with life. This changed me tremendously.
I no longer identify with my disease, nor do I find my identity in the material world. I feel deeply connected to the "Oneness" while remaining present and grounded in the now.
On this platform, I share my art through photography and video, as well as my reflections on life, travel, and the nature of being. I have also co-created a community for those dedicated to sustainability and service to both nature and humanity.
I hope you enjoy my creative expressions, and may they help awaken and guide the light within you.
